Friday 6 November 2009

The autumn has started here in Kanazawa. I noticed the sudden drop in temperature on Monday evening when I was waiting for my bus. I had to wait for twenty minutes in the blistering cold. Anyway, before the cold weather kicked I wanted to enjoy the end of the summer before it completely finishes so I went to Tokyo to treat myself. I went on the night bus which took me to shinjuku in the early morning then I stayed in an internet cafe to pass the time. As usual I went to my favorite stores 109-2 and Parco in shibuya. These departments stores are probably my favorite stores in Japan. To my suprise when I went to 109-2 I saw Yukapo, Buhi-chan and Anna promoting a new store in the building. I waited in line and talked to them and I got their attention which made me really happy. They asked me if I was Japanese and were a bit puzzled and when I explained my situation they understood. While we were talking sexy Buhi-chan looked at me for what seemed like an eternity then she gave me a condom before the picture was taken. I like to imagine that she was implying something rather naughty!! After that I got my jeans and pants exchanged at tornado mart and met up with rumi in the night! It was a fantastic day out and you will know what I mean when you take a look at the picture with me and the girls!! What a trip to Tokyo!!!

Here's more of my collection.

My Civarize and Fuga collection

Civarize Ethnic Bone Brace/Gold. This looks so cool! I bought this for cheap too which makes it even more cooler!!

Civarize Tutankamen Brace/BLK. I bought this twice because the first was in bad condition so I had to buy another one on the auction site.

What a fool for fashion I can be sometimes. (>_<)

Still have not managed to find the guts to wear all rings on one hand like the picture. Some day I will though! In order of collection: Civarize Coerce Ring/Silver, Space Skull Ring/BLK
(made of Buffalo bone), Scales ring/silver,
orbed(ウォープド) ring/silver.

Civarize Fuga Chain pierce black. Feels a bit heavy on my ear though

This is the s/s Civarize Coerce ring silver designed to strike out!

Living in Japan there's no escaping fashion. My recent craze is in accessories. The Civarize and Fuga brands are something else. I have managed to collect all products of the pictures above so check out the photos!!(Model: Masato)

The obon holidays

So free. It's the obon holidays and I was thinking to go and visit Tokyo over the weekend but I have almost used up all my monthly allowance so I will spend this obon holiday in Kanazawa. Free to do whatever I want so what would be good for the day? The summer has arrived late here in Kanazawa but at least it has arrived. I have been wearing nothing but Buffalo Bobs tank tops (see photo above)because it's been so hot recently, around 28 degrees. Yesterday I went to a curry restaurant called Loitti which was recommended to me by Rohan my friend. I also bought an English work book in Beans book store. I hope this book will help for my English kids class. Anyway, getting back to today I think I will use this day to study Japanese because the Proficiency Test is coming up again. I have to be sure to past this time though!

When you wish upon a star...

It's August 13th 2009 which means it has been over a year since I last wrote something. Where do I start? Well, I am still living life in Japan and am teaching English in a Foreign language center here in Kanazawa. Yesterday I had my first experience of seeing a shooting star. I was told by a friend that there would be shooting stars from 2 am and I was lucky enough to see one. I hope my wish comes true! It really was an amazing site. It was also very cloudy last night but through the midst of the heavy clouds lurking over the night sky I managed to catch a glimpse of a shooting star!

Chuu nichi Fireworks Festival at the river sai mameda

Time to update my blog. its already 2009. I have not written in this blog for over a year now. oh my. Anyway just to update I am still working in the same place. The Irish band has split up and I have started doing private violin lessons in order to play in weddings. I have joined a new Japnese football team and have recently started playing volleyball which I enjoy. The most recent interesting thing I did do was visit the anual fireworks display near the river sai on august 1st. I wore a jinbei which is a traditional Japanese summer garment usually worn for events but can be worn for casual times.

Spring Activities: Nagano Soccer Tournament and the Kyoto trip

I intended to use this blogg as a journal but unfortunately I have hardly had any time to write about my life in Japan. I will try to update this site regulary in future. This week has been an interesting week. We are finally away from the dreaded Ishikawa winter and have entered my most favorite time of the year, spring. This means more outdoor activities and social events and of course the subtle change of kanazawa people as well. It is often said that people from Kanazawa tend to become more sociable due to the change of weather. Since last week I too have become more sociable. I have joined an Irish band in my hope to continue my violin pracitice and have been making a constant effort to get my ass to the soccer training grounds in preparation for the Nagano Soccer tournament. This year with the extreme loss of weight and eating problems that I have since experienced I have been under performing in training so will have to change my diet and phycial trainning routine. Next week will be the thing I will most look forward to. I will be going on a one day trip organised by the hokkoku academy or something from my workplace. The trip will be in Kyoto so I am really looking forward to that. Will tell you about how it went next time! Well next time has arrived. I have decided to continue the post with a bit about the Kyoto trip. It was really good. We got to see a temple, ate traditonal Kyoto food, went to mushidera and bought some omiyage from Kyoto. All in all it was great.
Peace!
